A picture taken in Shanghai during the typhoon (source: Yahoo/Reuters). It shows how much rain fell over the weekend. According to the Shanghai Daily we had about 250-300 mm of rain in the past two days.
I took the subway on Friday night (see post below) between Changhu Lu and Hengshan Lu to avoid the flooding on the road. This morning I read that a few hours after that the subway flooded as well! Glad I was home by that time.
In total 6 people died because of the typhoon. Two of them were electrocuted when their home flooded while they were using electrical appliances and one of them was blown off a roof that he was repairing.
